The route from Denpassar to Dencarik

Dencarik is about 100 km from the Airport in Denpassar, and it takes around 2.5 hours by a very scenic road through the paddy fields and the mountains of Bali.

The shortest and fastest route is the south-north connection which runs from Kuta/Sanur via Kapal (famous for its pottery and stone carvings), Mengwi (with its beautiful Taman Ayun garden temple), Baturiti, Pacung, the fruit & vegetable market of Candi Kuning, to Lake Bratan and the famous Ulun Danu water temple. A few kilometer after lake Bratan the road starts to climb again, to the pass of Wanigiri. On your way you will pass a forest with a holy rock formation where a large group of small monkeys lives. Mainly in the morning hours you will see dozens of monkeys playing at the sides of the road. Have a rest stop here to enjoy the view on Lake Buyan. As soon as you have reached the pass of Wanigiri the roads starts to wind down, passing the Yeh Ketipat temple and the Gitgit waterfalls, on to Singaraja. At Singaraja you turn left, following the coastal road to Lovina and Dencarik is 15 minutes west of Lovina.
